Our kiddo was a delayed speaker, and he made sense of the world through reading. We think he started reading around age 2. I’ve been make Zines to help him learn about a subject he’s interested in, or help him anticipate an event that is forthcoming.

I’ve chosen to keep the Zines handmade, i.e: made with pencil sketches on paper and then going back to color the sketches and trace with ink. This can be rather time consuming as there’s research about the topic as well as my trying to render a drawing to my satisfaction, or to a way that conveys a meaning to the kid.
